Cricket West Indies (CWI) has made a historic move by awarding year-long contracts to fourteen female cricketers from the Caribbean. This initiative is part of CWI’s commitment to enhancing Elite and High-Performance cricket, focusing on the growth of women’s cricket in the region. The total number of contracted players now stands at 104 regional players and 164 including Senior and Academy players.

Commitment to Women’s Cricket

Miles Bascombe, CWI Director of Cricket, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it supports the development of regional talent and ensures consistent international performance. The contracts aim to create a sustainable talent pipeline for global competitions.

Male Player Contracts Renewed

In addition to the female contracts, CWI has renewed contracts for 90 male players across six territories, reinforcing its dedication to strengthening both men’s and women’s cricket in the region.
