Court to Hear Bail Plea of IAS Officer Pooja Khedkar Over Exam Fraud Allegations

The Patiala House Court in Delhi will hear the anticipatory bail application of probationary IAS officer Pooja Khedkar on Tuesday. She is accused of faking her identity to exceed the permissible attempts in the civil services exam.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) filed an FIR against Khedkar, alleging she changed her name, her parents’ names, her photograph, signature, email ID, mobile number, and address to fraudulently avail extra attempts. The UPSC has also issued a show cause notice for the cancellation of her selection and debarment from future exams.

Khedkar, who secured an all-India rank of 821 in the UPSC exams, was a provisionally recommended candidate for the Civil Service Examination, 2022. She has been relieved from the District Training Programme of the State Government of Maharashtra and recalled to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, with her training put on hold.

The court will hear arguments on her bail application on July 30. The complainant has been granted permission to oppose the bail application through private counsel and file objections during the proceedings.
