Court Reserves Bail Order for Five in $15 Million Cyber Fraud Case Involving US Citizens
The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi has reserved its decision on the bail pleas of five individuals accused in a $15 million cyber fraud case targeting US citizens. The order will be pronounced on August 13.
Special CBI judge Mohd. Farrukh reserved the order after hearing arguments from the defense counsels and the public prosecutor for the CBI. The accused are Dhruv Khattar, Ritesh Kumar, Ravindra Gupta, Hazim Imtiyaz, and Mir Gazanfar Gul.
On the same day, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate extended the judicial custody of 38 other accused until August 23. One accused was not produced from jail, and four others were remanded to judicial custody after CBI interrogation. The court has directed that all 43 accused be produced via video conferencing from Tihar Jail on the next date.
The court also requested the medical records of one accused, Abhishek Bisht. Advocate Bharat Arora appeared for Abhishek Bisht, and advocate Arun Khatri appeared for Dhruv Khattar. The CBI had arrested 43 people, including four women, on July 25 from Gurugram.
