Court Orders Daily Blood Sugar Tests for AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in Jail
In New Delhi, the Rouse Avenue court has instructed jail authorities to check the blood sugar levels of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan twice daily due to his medical condition. Special Judge Vishal Gogne ordered that Khan’s glucose levels be monitored twice a day and whenever he feels unwell. The court also directed that warm water be made available to him. These measures were decided after reviewing documents and submissions from jail authorities.
The court dismissed Khan’s request for an electric kettle and glucometer, as the jail can provide regular sugar level tests and warm water. Khan’s judicial custody is extended until October 21, following his arrest on September 2 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for alleged involvement in a Rs. 36 Crore property purchase in Okhla.

On October 7, Judge Gogne extended Khan’s custody after hearing from the ED and defense counsel. The ED’s Special Public Prosecutor argued for continued custody, citing ongoing investigations and the risk of evidence tampering. Khan’s defense, led by Advocate Rajat Bhardwaj and Kaustubh Khanna, opposed the extension.
