Court Extends Police Remand for Accused in Baba Siddiqui Murder Case
In Mumbai, Maharashtra, nine individuals accused in the murder case of Baba Siddiqui, a former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, appeared in court. Their police remand was extended until October 26. The accused include Gurmail Baljit Singh, Dharmaraj Kashyap, Harish Kumar Nisad, Pravin Lonkar, Nitin Gautam Sapre, Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi, Pradeep Dattu Thombre, Chetan Dilip Pardhi, and Ram Fulchand Kanoujia. The court, led by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V R Patil, extended their remand by one day.
Additionally, Mumbai Police arrested another suspect, Sujeet Kumar, in Ludhiana. He was apprehended based on secret information and brought to Mumbai. Sujeet, who resides in Mumbai, was visiting his in-laws in Ludhiana.
Baba Siddiqui was tragically shot on October 12 near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Nirmal Nagar, Mumbai. The murder was claimed by the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The police revealed that the shooters were in contact with Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, via Snapchat before the incident. Siddiqui was taken to Lilavati Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
