Court Delays Decision on Summons for Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav in Land for Job Case

The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi has postponed its decision on issuing summons to former Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tejaswi Yadav, and other accused individuals in a land for job money laundering case. Special Judge Vishal Gogne has rescheduled the order for September 13.

On August 6, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary charge sheet against Lalu, Tejaswi, and nine others. The charge sheet includes the names of Lallan Chaudhary, Hazari Rai, Dharmender Kumar, Akhileshwar Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Late Lal Babu Rai, Sonmatia Devi, Late Kishun Dev Rai, and Sanjay Rai. It also contains 96 relied-upon documents.

In this case, Bihar’s former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, and Amit Katyal and Hridyanand Chaudhary have also been charge-sheeted. Two firms, AK Infosystem and AB Export, are accused as well.

The ED stated that AK Infosystem, formed by Amit Katyal in 2006-07, was supposed to be an IT data analysis business but instead bought several land parcels. One of these parcels is linked to the main offence of land for a job. The company was transferred to Rabri Devi and Tejaswi Yadav in 2014 for one lakh rupees.

AB Export, incorporated in 1996, was supposed to be in the export business. In 2007, it received Rs 5 crore through five companies and purchased a property in New Friends Colony. Seven land parcels are involved in this case, with Rabri Devi, Hema Yadav, and Misa Bharti receiving and later selling their parcels.

The ED’s Special Public Prosecutor informed the court that the Yadav family members benefited from the proceeds of crime. Amit Katyal is said to be a close aide of Lalu Prasad Yadav. The Delhi High Court refused to quash ED proceedings against Katyal, who is accused of engaging in transactions with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family members.
