New Delhi [India], September 26: Delhi’s Patiala House Court has granted Yasin Bhatkal, a notorious terrorist and co-founder of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), permission to have a video conference with his ailing mother. Bhatkal had initially sought custody parole to meet his mother in person, but the court allowed a video call instead.

Additional Sessions Judge Dr. Hardeep Kaur directed the Jail Superintendent to facilitate the video conference as a one-time allowance. The communication must be in Hindi, and for security reasons, it can be recorded if necessary.

Bhatkal’s mother recently underwent cardiac surgery, prompting his request for custody parole under Para 1203 of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018, which allows parole for serious illness of a family member.
