On October 22, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted a significant operation across six districts in the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam, and Kulgam. The operation led to the capture of recruiters linked to a new terrorist group, ‘Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim’ (TLM), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), operated by a Pakistani handler known as Baba Hamas.

Details of the Operation

The CIK’s early morning raids successfully dismantled the recruitment module of TLM. This group was reportedly being managed by Baba Hamas, a Pakistani terrorist handler.

Recent Violent Incidents

In a related development, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team visited a construction site in Ganderbal where a doctor, a designer, and five migrant workers were killed. The attack occurred on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Gagangir village, raising security concerns in the region.

Government’s Response

Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, emphasized the need for security forces to remain vigilant. He condemned the violence against civilians and assured that the administration would work to ensure public safety.
