Corbett FC Wins AIFF Futsal Club Championship with Lalruatsanga’s Heroics

New Delhi, India – Corbett FC made a stunning debut in the AIFF Futsal Club Championship held in Gujarat. They scored an impressive 48 goals in seven games to win the title. The final match against Golazo FC was intense, with Corbett FC winning 3-2 in extra time thanks to a goal by PC Lalruatsanga in the 49th minute.

Corbett FC took the lead twice during regular time, but Golazo FC equalized each time. Lalruatsanga’s goal, assisted by Pratik Swami, sealed the victory. This win made Corbett FC the first team from Uttarakhand to win an AIFF tournament. Lalruatsanga scored 17 goals in the tournament, earning him the Golden Boot award.

Head coach Mohammad Rizwan praised the team’s quality, positive attitude, and preparation. The semi-final against Ambelim SC was also challenging, with Corbett FC narrowly winning 6-5 after leading 6-2. Rizwan highlighted the importance of their two-week training camp in fine-tuning their strategy.

Other notable teams included Golazo FC, who had the best defensive record, and Ambelim SC, who defeated defending champions Minerva Academy FC. FC Thyristor and Ramhlun Venglai also had strong performances, while Millat FC and Speed Force FC showed promise despite not making it to the knockout stages.

Corbett FC’s victory is a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and determination.
