Controversy Surrounds Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s Musi River Padayatra

In Hyderabad, Telangana, a recent padayatra by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy along the Musi River has sparked criticism. Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader Ravula Sridhar Reddy criticized the move, suggesting it fails to address the real issues faced by affected communities. He urged the government to focus on areas where people are forcefully relocated, rather than conducting a padayatra in Nalagonda district.

The controversy is linked to the Musi River rejuvenation project, which has been accused of being a potential scam. KT Rama Rao, the Working President of BRS, accused Revanth Reddy of spreading falsehoods and planning the country’s biggest scam by discarding existing designs that could be implemented at a lower cost.

KT Rama Rao highlighted inconsistencies in Revanth Reddy’s statements regarding the project’s budget, which was initially 16,800 crore rupees but allegedly inflated to 1,50,000 crore rupees. He warned against displacing the poor for corrupt plans and threatened protests if the project harms underprivileged communities.
