Controversy Over Tirupati Temple Prasadam: Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy Clash
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has criticized the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government over the Tirupati Prasadam controversy. TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu accused the former government of playing with people’s emotions and disregarding their sentiments.
Naidu stated, ‘Every religion has certain traditions and commitments, and the government needs to respect all of them.’ He claimed that the previous government had failed to honor people’s feelings and that the Lord himself had led him to reveal these facts about the Laddu.
Congress leader Pawan Khera called for a fast-track inquiry into the alleged use of ‘animal fat’ in the prasadam at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati. Khera emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and strict punishment for the guilty.
Advocate K Karuna Sagar also alleged that the previous YSRCP government had used ‘animal fat’ in the Laddu Prasadam, calling it an attack on Hindu sentiments and a conspiracy. He expressed his shock at lab reports confirming the use of low-quality ghee containing beef, pork, and fish oil.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan claimed that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board was altered for political gain by the previous government, leading to various scams and changes in worship protocols.
On September 19, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu sparked a political controversy by claiming that the ghee used in the preparation of Tirupati Laddu Prasadam contained animal fat during the previous YSRCP government.
