Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Criticizes PM Modi Over Chinese Incursion

New Delhi [India], July 7: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the Central government for failing to maintain control over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of not keeping the status quo and allowing China to build a military base near Pangong Tso, an area under Indian control until May 2020.

Kharge shared a media report claiming the Chinese army is digging close to Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh. He highlighted several instances where he believes the Modi government failed to address the issue strongly, including a recent interview and statements by the External Affairs Minister.

Kharge stated that China continues to occupy Indian territory and construct a military base at Sirijap. He accused the Modi government of losing control of 26 out of 65 patrolling points, including areas in Depsang Plains, Demchok, and Gogra Hot Springs.

He reiterated Congress’s demand for transparency on the border situation and emphasized their support for Indian soldiers. Kharge also criticized the increase in Indian imports from China and called for a strategy to reduce dependence on Chinese products.
