New Delhi [India], August 1: During a parliamentary session, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge became emotional over BJP MP Ghanshyam Tiwari’s ‘parivarvaad’ remarks about his political journey. Kharge requested Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to expunge the comments, stating he felt bad and did not wish to live long in such an environment.

Kharge, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, pointed out that Tiwari had referred to his entire family being in politics. Kharge clarified that he is a first-generation politician and shared details of his political journey, which began after joining the Congress party. He also mentioned that his father had died at the age of 85.

Chairman Dhankhar responded by wishing Kharge a longer life than his father and assured him that he would examine the records to ensure no hurtful words remain. Dhankhar emphasized that every member of Parliament is respected and that Kharge’s life in public service spans almost six decades.
