Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and PM Modi Condemn Attack on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania
New Delhi [India], July 14: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the attack on former US President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, resulted in one death and left Trump injured.
Kharge expressed his deep shock and condemned the violence, stating, “Deeply appalled by the attack on former US President Donald Trump. I strongly condemn this heinous act.” He also offered condolences to the family of the deceased, emphasizing that such violence has no place in any democracy and civilised society.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the incident, expressing his concern for Trump. He wrote, “Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him a speedy recovery.” Modi also offered condolences to the victim’s family and the American people.
The US Secret Service reported that a suspected shooter fired multiple shots towards the stage from an elevated position outside the rally venue. The shooter was neutralized by the Secret Service. Trump was immediately escorted off stage and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. The incident is under investigation.
