Congress MP Pramod Tiwari Criticizes AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s Remarks
In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari expressed his disapproval of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s recent comments. Tiwari suggested that Owaisi’s actions, whether intentional or not, often benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He urged Owaisi to focus on speaking in the national interest and cited examples from Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand where Owaisi’s statements allegedly caused polarization favoring the BJP.
Owaisi had earlier posted a video on X, advising Congress to collaborate with all opposition parties to defeat the BJP. He questioned how Modi won in Haryana and emphasized the need for unity among opposition parties to challenge Modi’s leadership.
Reacting to Owaisi’s remarks, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Congress party, labeling it a “parasite party.” He claimed that Congress relies on other parties for support and struggles to compete against the BJP independently, as seen in various state elections like Jammu, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.
In the Haryana legislative assembly elections, the BJP secured a majority with 48 out of 90 seats, while Congress won 37 seats. Independents and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 3 and 2 seats, respectively.
