In Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Congress leader and Virudhunagar MP, Manickam Tagore, has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of collaborating with business tycoons Adani and Ambani, blaming the government for the country’s rising debt. Tagore highlighted a report on the central government’s debt, stating that India’s debt has reached Rs176 lakh crore, burdening each citizen with Rs1.26 lakh. He called for accountability, emphasizing the need for economic justice.

Tagore has previously addressed monetary issues, writing to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman about the shortage of lower denomination currency notes, which he claims is causing hardship in rural and urban poor communities. He urged for immediate action to resume printing and distribution of these notes.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also criticized PM Modi during a rally in Haryana, accusing him of favoring Adani and Ambani. Gandhi argued that the media’s constant coverage of Modi is an attack on the constitution and questioned the lavish spending by the wealthy, suggesting it is at the expense of the common people.
