Congress MP Manickam Tagore Criticizes BJP Over Bengal Doctor Case and Questions BRS Leader’s Bail
New Delhi [India], August 28: Congress MP Manickam Tagore has criticized the BJP, alleging that it is politicizing the sensitive rape and murder case of a trainee woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital for political gains. Tagore emphasized the importance of waiting for a proper investigation by the CBI and stated that politicizing the issue would not benefit anyone.
Tagore stressed that all governments should prioritize women’s safety and take serious actions against rape crimes. He urged the Modi government to implement real corrective steps instead of just giving speeches.
Earlier, the BJP called for a ’12-hour Bengal Bandh’ after Kolkata police used force against protestors in the ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ Rally.
Tagore also reacted to BRS leader K Kavitha’s bail following the Supreme Court’s decision, questioning the closeness between BJP and BRS. He suggested that this relationship might have influenced Kavitha’s release from Tihar Jail in the excise policy case investigated by the CBI and ED.
