Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and Rahul Gandhi Speak Out on NEET-UG Exam Controversy
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has accused the central government of discriminating against students in the NEET-UG exam issue. He stated that the Congress party will continue to fight against the BJP-led NDA government in the best interest of students.
Gogoi’s statement came after the Union Education Minister claimed that no paper leak had occurred and gave a clean chit to the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the NEET-UG exam controversy. Gogoi said, “The government is discriminating with the students of the nation… In the Parliament, the Education Minister said that no paper leak has happened. He has given a clean chit to NTA…We will continue our struggle in the interest of students.”
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also addressed the issue, stating that NEET is an important matter and the opposition will keep pressuring the government. He criticized the Education Minister for not addressing the issue adequately and highlighted that all major examinations in the country suffer from serious problems.
The NEET-UG 2024 exam was held on May 5, and results were announced on June 4, earlier than the scheduled date of June 14. Following the results, protests erupted over alleged irregularities and paper leaks, especially after 67 students achieved perfect scores of 720. The NEET-UG exam, conducted by the NTA, is crucial for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.
