In New Delhi, Congress leader Udit Raj commented on a stampede-like situation during a walk-in interview in Bharuch, Gujarat. He noted that the number of job seekers could have reached 8000, highlighting the issue of unemployment.

Raj said, “800 had reached there; that number can also be 8000. For just two posts, there are 10,000 people. For 10 posts, there are lakhs of people.”

A viral video showed job seekers pushing and shoving to secure a spot on a ramp leading to a hotel entrance, causing the ramp’s railing to collapse.

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi stated on social media that unemployment has become an epidemic in BJP-ruled states. He said, “The ‘disease of unemployment’ has taken the form of an epidemic in India and BJP-ruled states have become the ‘epicentre’ of this disease.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also criticized the BJP, calling the incident proof of the “cheating model” followed by the BJP in Gujarat for 22 years. He said, “This video is solid proof of the way the Modi government has snatched jobs from youth and destroyed their future in the last 10 years.”

However, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi refuted the claims, stating that the individuals were experienced professionals responding to a job ad, not unemployed. He said, “A viral video from Ankleshwar is attempting to defame Gujarat. The walk-in interview ad clearly states that experienced candidates are needed, implying they are already employed.”
