Discussions on Candidate Selection

Ramesh Chennithala, Congress’ in-charge for Maharashtra, stated that discussions are being held for all the seats. He mentioned that a second list of candidates will be published after the meeting.

Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Strategy

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole emphasized that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is focusing on merit for seat allocation. The MVA includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress.

Upcoming Elections

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. The ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, is also preparing for the elections.

Previous Election Results

In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
