Congress Leaders Meet in Delhi Ahead of Elections
Top Congress leaders gathered in New Delhi to prepare for the upcoming Assembly elections in four states: Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra. The meeting took place at the AICC headquarters and was chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal was also present.
The Congress party has announced new appointments within the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP). Ranjeet Ranjan, MK Raghavan, and Amar Singh have been appointed as secretaries, while Vijay Vasanth has been named Treasurer. These appointments were made by CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and announced by KC Venugopal.
Polling in Jammu and Kashmir will occur in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1. Haryana will vote for its 90-member legislative assembly on October 5, with vote counting for both states on October 8. Jharkhand and Maharashtra will also hold elections later this year, with specific dates yet to be announced.
