Congress Leader Udit Raj Questions Maharashtra Government After NCP Leader Baba Siddique’s Murder

In New Delhi, Congress leader Udit Raj expressed concerns over the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, questioning the competence of the Maharashtra government and its Home Minister. Udit Raj stated, “This is not an ordinary incident. He was threatened and then murdered. The question arises whether the government is competent, is the Home Minister competent? Should he remain in office? Gangsters are operating from jail and what is the Home Minister of our country and the Home Minister of Maharashtra doing?”

Earlier, Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Pravin Lonkar in Pune, linked to the murder case. Pravin is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar, who claimed on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the murder. Shubuu Lonkar is currently absconding. Police reported that Pravin Lonkar sheltered the accused in Pune.

The ossification test of Dharmaraj Kashyap, another accused, confirmed he is not a minor. This test, which estimates age by bone fusion, was ordered by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court after Kashyap’s lawyer claimed he was a minor. Following the test, Kashyap was presented in court and police custody was extended until October 21.

Officials identified Pravin Lonkar as the brother of Shubham Lonkar, involved in the conspiracy. They allegedly recruited Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam to kill Siddique. Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar, and his last rites were held with full state honors in Mumbai at Bada Qabrastan.
