Congress Leader Sandeep Dikshit Talks About BJP’s Decline After INDIA Bloc’s By-Poll Wins
New Delhi, India – July 14: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit shared his thoughts after the INDIA bloc won 10 out of 13 seats in recent by-polls across seven states. Dikshit mentioned that if the Lok Sabha elections had been held 6-8 months later, the BJP would not have won more than 120 seats.
On Sunday, Dikshit stated, “Right after the Lok Sabha elections, we have won 12-13 seats in 4-5 states, which clearly indicates that the BJP’s graph has been falling. Had the Lok Sabha elections been organised after 6-8 months, BJP would not have won more than 120 seats.”
He further added, “For the first time, NDA parties are performing better than BJP in their respective states and BJP is absolutely relying on them… BJP has multiple organ failures and is failing in multiple states. It is soon headed to an ICU.”
The by-poll results were a setback for the BJP, winning only two out of 13 seats, while the INDIA bloc won 10 seats and an independent candidate won a seat in Bihar. The by-elections were held on July 10 in seven states: Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.
In Uttarakhand, Congress won both seats, with Lakhapat Singh Butola defeating Rajendra Singh Bhandari in Badrinath and Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin defeating Kartar Singh Bhadana in Manglaur. In Himachal Pradesh, Congress won two out of three seats, with Kamlesh Thakur winning in Dehra and Hardeep Singh Bawa in Nalagarh. Ashish Sharma from BJP won in Hamirpur.
In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won in Jalandhar West. In Tamil Nadu, DMK won in Vikravandi. In West Bengal, the All India Trinamool Congress won all four seats. In Bihar, neither the JDU of the BJP-led NDA nor the RJD of the INDIA alliance won a seat.
