Congress Leader Rashid Alvi Criticizes BJP Over RG Kar Hospital Case
New Delhi, India – Congress leader Rashid Alvi has accused BJP leaders of trying to demean opposition leaders. He made these remarks while discussing the ongoing investigation into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case.
Alvi stated, “CBI is conducting the inquiry. The culprit has been arrested, and the Supreme Court is supervising the investigation. BJP leaders should stop maligning the state government and start conducting their own court.”
Earlier, a letter allegedly signed by former Principal of RG Kar Hospital, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, surfaced, suggesting an attempt to alter the crime scene. The BJP has demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister, stressing the need for a fair investigation.
The letter, dated August 10, ordered urgent repairs and renovations of the on-duty Doctors’ Room and attached toilets at RG Kar Hospital. BJP West Bengal General Secretary Locket Chatterjee criticized the Kolkata police, accusing them of spreading fake news and demanded a probe against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging the crime was organized.
BJP MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato wrote to the Director of CBI, urging the arrest of DC Indira Mukherjee and other Kolkata Police officials involved in tampering with evidence. The body of the trainee doctor was found on August 9, sparking nationwide protests. A civic volunteer and Dr. Sandip Ghosh were arrested in connection with the case.
