Congress Leader Pramod Tiwari Discusses Haryana Election Results

In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari shared insights on a recent review meeting about the unexpected results of the Haryana Assembly elections. The meeting, held on Thursday, involved detailed discussions on the election outcomes. Tiwari mentioned that future meetings will continue, and any decisions made will be communicated to everyone. He emphasized the importance of following any suggestions that arise.

When questioned about the Congress delegation’s meeting with the Election Commission of India regarding the Haryana polls, Tiwari expressed concerns about being deliberately defeated on 20 seats due to a suspicious slowdown in vote counting. He called for a recount on those seats to ensure transparency and fairness in the elections.

On the other hand, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi attributed Congress’s defeat to internal conflicts among its leaders. He criticized Congress for blaming external factors like EVM machines for their failures.

A Congress delegation, including prominent leaders like KC Venugopal, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Ashok Gehlot, met with the Election Commission to address their concerns. Bhupinder Singh Hooda described the election results as surprising, noting that Congress was initially leading during the postal ballot count but fell behind when EVM counting began.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive term, having won 48 seats. Congress secured 37 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and independents won two and three seats, respectively.
