New Delhi, India – Congress leader KC Venugopal has criticized BJP President JP Nadda’s response to a letter written by Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Venugopal described Nadda’s reply as arrogant and indicative of the Prime Minister’s support for attacks on Rahul Gandhi.
In a post on X, Venugopal stated, “BJP President JP Nadda’s reply to INC President Kharge ji smacks of arrogance and clearly shows that since the PM could not even get himself to respond on this very serious issue, the attacks on Rahul ji have his full support.” He further accused the BJP of being responsible for the declining standards of political discourse in India.
Nadda’s letter to Kharge criticized Rahul Gandhi, calling Kharge’s defense of him an attempt to “polish a failed product.” Nadda highlighted Gandhi’s controversial statements and accused the Congress party of damaging Indian democracy through actions like imposing emergency rule and supporting triple talaq.
On September 17, Kharge wrote to Prime Minister Modi, seeking strict action against BJP leaders for their controversial remarks about Rahul Gandhi. Kharge emphasized that the violent language used by BJP leaders is dangerous for the country’s future. This followed remarks by Union MoS Ravneet Singh Bittu and Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, who made inflammatory statements about Gandhi.
