Congress Leader KC Venugopal Criticizes PM Modi and BJP in Parliament
New Delhi, India – Congress MP KC Venugopal launched a strong attack on the PM Modi-led NDA government, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using Hinduism to polarize people and win elections. During a debate on the Motion of Thanks to President Droupadi Murmu’s address, Venugopal questioned who could be called a ‘real Hindu believer’ and emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi learned non-violence from the Bhagavad Gita, while Nathuram Godse learned violence.
Venugopal stated, ‘We the Congress and INDIA bloc believe in Gandhi’s Hinduism, not Godse’s Hinduism.’ He also criticized PM Modi for allegedly violating constitutional norms during election rallies and accused the Election Commission of inaction.
Venugopal highlighted controversial remarks made by BJP leaders, including Sambit Patra, JP Nadda, and Kangana Ranaut, who compared PM Modi to Hindu gods. He argued that BJP’s portrayal of Modi as bigger than God is anti-Hindu.
He also criticized the NDA government for infrastructure failures, citing incidents like the collapse of airport roofs and bridges. Venugopal challenged PM Modi to investigate the alleged electoral bonds scam and called for a parliamentary inquiry.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi also called for the installation of an Ambedkar statue in front of the new Parliament building.
