Congress Leader KC Venugopal Criticizes NDA Government for Infrastructure Failures
New Delhi [India], July 2: Congress MP KC Venugopal launched a strong criticism against the NDA government, accusing it of multiple infrastructure failures. He stated that under the BJP rule, ‘every building is under threat of collapsing.’
Infrastructure Failures
During a debate on the motion of thanks to President Droupadi Murmu’s address, Venugopal listed several incidents:
- Delhi Airport roof collapse
- Jabalpur Airport roof collapse
- Rajkot Airport canopy collapse
- Bad road conditions in Ayodhya
- Leakage in Ram Mandir
- Cracks in Mumbai Harbour link road
- Three new bridges collapsed in Bihar
- Pragati Maidan tunnel submerged
He emphasized that all these constructions happened during the NDA period and are now collapsing.
Challenge to Prime Minister
Venugopal also challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to investigate the alleged electoral bonds scam. He said, ‘If you are not scared of anything…then why don’t you put up an inquiry? Put up an inquiry of parliamentary committee. You’re not ready.’
Call for Ambedkar Statue
Meanwhile, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi called for the installation of an Ambedkar statue in front of Parliament. He questioned, ‘Would it not have been appropriate to install an idol of Bhimrao Ambedkar in front of the Parliament?’
Recent Incidents
The Delhi Airport canopy collapse on June 28 resulted in one death and eight injuries. The Rajkot Airport canopy collapse on June 29 caused no injuries, and repair work is underway.
