Congress Leader Deepender Hooda Promises Stadium and Shooting Range for Olympic Medallist Manu Bhaker in Jhajjar

During his visit to Jhajjar, Congress MP Deepender Hooda announced that if the Congress party wins the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana, they will fulfill Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker’s request to build a stadium and shooting range in Jhajjar. Hooda expressed pride in Haryana’s athletes, noting that the state secured five out of the six medals won by India.

Speaking to the media, Hooda said, “I congratulate Manu Bhaker as she has become the first athlete in history to win two Olympic medals in a single Olympics. It was a very proud moment for us, and five out of the six medals came from Haryana. Manu Bhaker has requested the construction of a stadium and shooting range in Jhajjar. If our government is formed, we will fulfill these demands.”

Earlier, Manu Bhaker called for enhanced facilities in her village to foster the next generation of athletes. “If we get better facilities in our village, the children will go a long way. If we get stadiums and ranges, the children can achieve success,” Bhaker stated.

The elections for Haryana’s 90 assembly constituencies will be held in a single phase on October 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 4. Haryana has a total of 2.01 crore voters, including 1.06 crore males, 0.95 crore females, 4.52 lakh first-time voters, and 40.95 lakh young voters. The last date to file nominations is September 12, with scrutiny on September 13 and the final date for withdrawal of candidatures on September 16.

The current government’s term in Haryana will end on November 3, 2024. In the 2019 elections, the BJP formed a coalition government with the JJP, but the alliance was dissolved earlier this year. The 2024 elections are expected to be a four-way contest between the BJP, Congress, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and AAP.
