In Jammu, Congress candidates from Jammu and Kashmir gathered to discuss their election experiences after exit polls suggested a hung assembly. The meeting was led by Tariq Hameed Karra, the Congress president and candidate from Central Shalteng. Karra highlighted issues like liquor and money being transported during elections, with no cooperation from authorities. He questioned the powers of the LG in nominating MLAs, stating it should be guided by the government.

Karra emphasized Congress’s readiness to collaborate with parties opposing the BJP. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal noted that people in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana have rejected BJP’s ideology. Harish Rawat, another Congress leader, mentioned that voters in Jammu and Kashmir chose peace and development, favoring the National Conference-Congress alliance. He also predicted Congress’s majority win in Haryana.

Exit polls by Axis My India forecast a hung assembly in Jammu and Kashmir, with the NC-Congress alliance slightly leading. The elections were held in three phases, and results are expected on October 8.
