Introduction

The Congress party has announced its candidates for the upcoming bye-elections in the legislative assemblies of Assam and Madhya Pradesh. This decision was approved by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Assam Candidates

In Assam, the Congress has nominated Dhrubajyoti Purakayastha for the Dholai (SC) seat, Sanjib Warle for Sidli (ST), Brajenjit Sinha for Bongaigaon, and Tanzil Hussain for Samaguri.

Madhya Pradesh Candidates

For Madhya Pradesh, Mukesh Malhotra will contest from Vijaypur, and Rajkumar Patel will represent Budhni. The Budhni seat was vacated by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a senior BJP leader, after he became a Member of Parliament from Vidisha. Vijaypur became vacant when Ramniwas Rawat left Congress to join the BJP.

The bye-elections are scheduled for November 13, with the counting of votes set for November 23.
