In June, Pakistani forces allegedly detained 54 people across 12 districts in Balochistan, raising concerns about enforced disappearances. The Baloch National Movement’s human rights wing, PAANK, reported incidents of torture, extrajudicial killings, and a suicide linked to psychological trauma. The report highlighted a surge in protests, especially in the Makran division.

The Pakistan Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances received 197 cases in the first half of 2024, with 10,285 cases reported since 2011. The commission has traced 6,464 people and disposed of 8,015 cases so far. In June, 47 new cases were received, and 28 were resolved, with some individuals returning home and others found in internment centers or prisons.
