The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has expressed worries about anti-India Khalistani groups operating in Canada. They have urged the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to protect national interests and involve opposition parties in discussions.

India-Canada Diplomatic Tensions

Relations between India and Canada have been strained since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed India’s involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has rejected these allegations and expelled six Canadian diplomats after Canada expelled six Indian diplomats.

India’s Response

India has criticized Prime Minister Trudeau’s government for allowing extremists to threaten Indian diplomats and community leaders in Canada. The Indian government has called these actions unacceptable and part of a political agenda.

Khalistani Elements -: Khalistani elements refer to a group of people who support the idea of creating a separate country called Khalistan for Sikhs, mainly in the Punjab region of India. Some of these supporters are considered extremists and are involved in activities against India.
