Uttarakhand’s New Helicopter Services Launched by CM Dhami

On November 7, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched new helicopter services from Sahastradhara in Dehradun to Joshiyara in Uttarkashi and Gauchar in Chamoli, along with an air service from Delhi to Pithoragarh. This initiative is part of the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme and was launched from his official residence.

Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu for their support. He emphasized that these services are a milestone for the state’s development, enhancing tourism, economic growth, and emergency management. The new routes significantly reduce travel time, with Dehradun to Joshiyara taking 40 minutes and to Gauchar 50 minutes.

The Udaan scheme, launched by Prime Minister Modi, aims to make air travel accessible to common citizens. Under this scheme, 18 heliports are being developed in Uttarakhand, with 10 already operational. Key areas like Srinagar, Haldwani, and Pithoragarh are now connected by air, with plans to expand further.

These services are expected to boost tourism, create jobs, and improve connectivity in remote areas, making travel faster and more efficient.
