Cloudburst in Shimla’s Samej Khad: 19 Missing, Rescue Operations Underway

A cloudburst occurred in the Samej Khad area of Shimla’s Rampur region, leaving 19 people missing. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap confirmed the incident and stated that rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), are on-site conducting rescue operations.

Union Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda has directed BJP workers to assist in the relief efforts. He assured Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu of all possible help from the central government. Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur expressed his condolences and urged the state government to ensure swift rescue operations.

In another incident, a cloudburst in Thaltukhod, Mandi, resulted in one death and nine missing. Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan confirmed that the district administration and NDRF team have left for the spot to conduct rescue operations.
