A cloudburst in the regions of Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh has led to a tragic situation. Six people have lost their lives, and 47 are still missing.

The Himachal Pradesh State Emergency Operation Centre provided a report detailing the damage over the past 36 hours. Mandi has the highest number of casualties with five deaths, followed by Kullu with one. Shimla has reported no casualties but has the highest number of missing people at 33.

A total of 55 people have been evacuated to relief camps, and 25 people are reported stranded. The disaster has fully damaged 61 houses and partially damaged 42, with Kullu experiencing the majority of the damage.
Rescue and Relief Efforts
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has mobilized extensive rescue and relief efforts. During his visit to the affected areas, he stated, “We will provide all possible help and relief to victims of the disaster… 49 people are missing and 4 bodies have been recovered… Restoration work is underway.”
The cloudburst occurred near the hydropower project in Samej Khad in Jhakri, Rampur. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap reported that the NDRF, SDRF, police, and rescue teams were dispatched to the site immediately after receiving the information.
