Closing Ceremony of 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 in Ranchi

The closing ceremony of the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 will take place tomorrow, September 30, 2024, at Shaurya Sabhagaar in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The event will feature important guests such as Santosh Gangwar, Governor of Jharkhand; Smt. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development; Smt. Baby Devi, Minister for Women, Child Development & Social Security, Jharkhand; Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, Government of India; and various officials from the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Jharkhand state government.

The 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, which ran from September 1 to 30, 2024, focused on issues like anaemia, growth monitoring, complementary feeding, and the initiative ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi.’ The campaign also integrated technology for better governance and highlighted environmental sustainability through the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting tree planting at Anganwadi centers.

Approximately 12 crore activities have been conducted during this Poshan Maah by various states and union territories. More than 11 thousand Saksham Anganwadi Centres across India will be inaugurated virtually during the closing ceremony. These centers are upgraded Anganwadis with improved infrastructure, including LED screens, water filtration systems, and materials for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). They also feature BALA (Building as a Learning Aid) Paintings and Poshan Vatika, which provide access to diverse food plants and herbs to combat malnutrition.

An exhibition showcasing aspects of Mission Poshan 2.0 will be organized by the State Government of Jharkhand at the venue. The closing event celebrates the collective efforts towards a healthier and nourished India, recognizing the dedication of all participating states and the vital role of stakeholders’ collaboration. It aims to strengthen grassroots movements through continued Jan Andolans and ensure enhanced participation of beneficiaries and communities through Saksham Anganwadi Centres.
