Class 9 Student Abducted and Assaulted in Gwalior
A Class 9 student in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly abducted and raped in a moving car last month, according to the police. The incident took place on the Gwalior-Shivpuri National Highway under the jurisdiction of Mohna police station.
When the victim’s family learned about the incident, they reported it to the police. A case was registered under the relevant sections of the rape and POCSO Act. Gwalior ASP Niranjan Sharma stated that a police team was formed to apprehend the accused.
The police arrested two suspects, aged between 18 and 20, who were involved in the crime. One of the suspects raped the girl while another recorded the assault. The video was later circulated on social media. The police have also seized the vehicle used in the crime and are searching for a third accomplice.
ASP Sharma mentioned that the victim, a 13-year-old girl, had befriended one of the accused about a year ago. On June 1, the accused and his friends forcibly took her in a car and committed the crime. They later attempted to blackmail her using the video and threatened to kill her. When she did not comply, they made the video viral.
