Tragic Death of Ramgopal Mishra
In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, a clash between two communities during a Durga idol immersion procession led to the tragic death of Ramgopal Mishra. According to Bahraich Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Mishra died from excessive bleeding caused by 25 to 30 pellet injuries. Additional injuries were found above his left eye and on his toes, with some nails missing.
Appeal for Peace
Superintendent of Police Rural, Pavitra Mohan Tripathi, urged the public not to spread misinformation on social media, emphasizing that the post-mortem report clearly indicated bullet injuries as the cause of death. He assured that the situation in the district remains peaceful.
Government’s Response
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prioritized justice for Mishra’s family, promising that the culprits will face consequences. The family received Rs 10 lakh, a house under the PM Awas Yojana, and an Antyodaya card. The state government also took action against police officials, removing the SHO of Hardi police station and the in-charge of the Mahsi area.
