CISF Takes Over Security of NTPC Coal Mining Project in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken over the security of the NTPC-Coal Mining Project in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. This new unit is led by a commandant rank officer, increasing the total number of CISF-secured units to 358.

NTPC, India’s largest energy conglomerate, was established in 1975 to accelerate power development in India and has a capacity of approximately 68 GW. Recently, NTPC has started captive coal production.

The induction ceremony was attended by Faiz Taiyab, Head of Project, Coal Mining Project Barwadih, D P Parihar, DIG CISF, CCL HQrs Ranchi, Rajneesh Rastogi, CGM, HR CMHQ, Sandeep Kumar S, Sr Comdt, and Mruthyunjaya Swamy D, DC. Other officers and personnel of CISF and NTPC-Coal Mining Project (CMP) Hazaribagh were also present.

The CISF provides security to India’s most critical infrastructure facilities, including nuclear installations, space establishments, airports, seaports, power plants, important government buildings, iconic heritage monuments, and the Delhi Metro. They also have a specialized VIP Security vertical for important protectees.
