CISF Intercepts Passengers with Diamonds Worth Rs 60 Lakh at Delhi Airport
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) intercepted two passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, carrying diamonds worth Rs 60 lakh. The incident occurred on September 4 at 6 am during pre-embarkation security checks at Terminal 3.
Details of the Interception
CISF personnel detected diamonds weighing about 80 grams concealed in the waist belt of a passenger named Jitendra Farsio, an Indian national bound for Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that his accomplice, M Anuj Patil Bhagwan, also an Indian national on the same flight, was carrying loose diamonds.
How They Were Caught
Using CCTV footage, the CISF located and intercepted both passengers. A thorough check of Anuj Patil Bhagwan’s handbag revealed diamonds weighing about 83 grams. In total, the recovered diamonds weighed approximately 163 grams.
Both passengers, along with the diamonds, were handed over to customs officials for further action.
