Chris Silverwood Joins Oval Invincibles as Assistant Coach in The Hundred
Chris Silverwood, who recently resigned as Sri Lanka’s head coach, has taken up a new role as an assistant coach with the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. He replaces Azhar Mahmood, who joined the Pakistan team earlier this year. Silverwood will work alongside Tom Moody, Matt Walker, and Jim Troughton.
Silverwood previously served as England’s fast bowling coach and later as head coach, leading the team across all formats. He parted ways with England after a 4-0 defeat in Australia in early 2022.
Former England cricketer James Foster returns to The Hundred, joining the London Spirit as an assistant coach. The London Spirit also added Ali Maiden and Marc Broom to their women’s team management.
Andrew Flintoff, another former England cricketer, has been appointed head coach of the Northern Superchargers. His first game will be against the Trent Rockets at Headingley on Friday.
