Pacer Chris Jordan achieved a remarkable milestone during the match between England and the United States in the Super Eights of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The 35-year-old became the first player to take a hat-trick for England in Men’s T20Is.

Jordan’s Impressive Performance

In the 19th over, Jordan showcased the dominance of the English bowling attack. He picked up his first wicket of the game by removing Corey Anderson for 29 runs. Jordan then completed his hat-trick by taking wickets in the third, fourth, and fifth balls of the 19th over, dismissing Ali Khan, Nosthush Kenjige, and Saurabh Netravalkar.

Jordan led the English bowling attack, taking four wickets and giving away only 10 runs in his three-over spell, with an economy rate of 3.50.

England’s Bowling Dominance

After winning the toss, Jos Buttler-led Team England opted to field against the United States. The English bowlers dominated from the start, restricting the US batting lineup to 115 runs. Nitish Kumar was the standout batter for the US, scoring 30 runs from 24 balls, including one four and two sixes. His innings ended in the 11th over when Adil Rashid took his wicket.

Corey Anderson also contributed with 29 runs from 28 balls, including one six. However, his innings ended in the 19th over when Chris Jordan delivered a low full toss, which Anderson tried to hit over long-on, only for Harry Brook to take the catch.

In addition to Jordan’s four wickets, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid each took two wickets, while Reece Topley and Liam Livingstone took one wicket each.
