Chowna Mein Inspects Parshuram Kund Development in Arunachal Pradesh
On November 6, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein visited the Parshuram Kund in Lohit district to inspect ongoing infrastructure projects. These projects aim to transform the area into a major pilgrimage center in Northeast India. The state government plans to allocate Rs 50 crore for infrastructure development, alongside Rs 50 crore from the DoNER ministry for riverfront development.
During his visit, Mein also held a meeting to discuss preparations for the Parshuram Kund Mela 2025. The meeting included MLA Tezu, Advisor Dr. Mohesh Chai, ADC Wakro, and other stakeholders. Mein stressed the importance of organizing the Mela successfully, as it attracts many pilgrims during Makar Sankranti. He instructed the district administration and the Parshuram Kund Development Trust to ensure accommodation for at least 2,000 people per night during the event. Additionally, Rs 50 lakh will be allocated to the Parshuram Kund Development Trust for effective Mela management.
The Parshuram Kund Mela is an annual event in January, drawing pilgrims seeking blessings from Lord Parshuram. The government is committed to improving infrastructure and facilities to enhance the spiritual experience for visitors.
