Patna (Bihar) [India], June 29: Union Minister Chirag Paswan visited Bihar for the first time after becoming the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries. He emphasized his commitment to enhancing food processing units in the state, which he believes will boost farmers’ incomes.

Paswan expressed his happiness over his party’s success in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where they won five seats in Bihar. He credited the hard work of his party workers and the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their victory.

Chirag Paswan, the chief of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (Ram Vilas), has become a significant ally for the BJP in the NDA. His party won all five contested seats: Hajipur, Samastipur, Vaishali, Jamui, and Khagaria, securing him a Cabinet position in the Modi 3.0 government.

Paswan outlined his vision for Bihar, focusing on the ‘Bihar first, Bihari first’ initiative. He highlighted the potential of food processing units for local produce like bananas, litchis, and mangoes to increase farmers’ income, state revenue, and youth employment.

Chirag Paswan took over the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, a role previously held by his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, and later by his uncle, Pashupati Paras. He assumed office on June 11 after winning the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat.

Addressing concerns about law and order in Bihar, Paswan mentioned discussions with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to control crime. He also commented on the recent bridge collapses, emphasizing the need for quality in construction works.

The Lok Janshakti Party shared on their official X handle about Paswan’s visit, where he performed Puja at Khagaul in Patna, praying for the happiness and prosperity of all countrymen.
