Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president, Chirag Paswan, expressed optimism about contesting the upcoming Jharkhand elections with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss election strategies for various states, including Jharkhand. Paswan mentioned that his party supports the BJP in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir and hopes to do the same in Jharkhand. However, he also hinted at the possibility of contesting independently if alliance talks do not yield positive results.

Paswan emphasized the strength of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and its potential benefits in the elections. The Jharkhand State Assembly’s term ends on January 5, 2025, with elections scheduled for 81 constituencies. The Election Commission of India has yet to announce the election dates. Recently, a delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar reviewed poll preparations in Jharkhand, meeting with various political parties to ensure fair elections.
