The Chinar Corps Commander visited the Vajr Division in Kupwara and Tangdhar sectors to assess the security situation and review operational preparedness. During his visit, he stressed the importance of situational awareness and strict vigilance to counter emerging challenges.

In a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by terrorists in the Nowshera sector. According to Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, intelligence inputs since August 30, 2024, indicated terrorist presence opposite the Nowshera Sector. Surveillance and patrols were intensified to monitor and secure the area.

On the night of September 8, surveillance teams detected suspicious movement, leading to an intense firefight that lasted through the night. Two terrorists were neutralized, and a significant cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles, an M-4 rifle, and a pistol, was recovered. The operation highlighted the effective coordination between the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies. Search operations are ongoing to ensure the area is completely secure.
