Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Orders Inquiry into Hathras Stampede

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a judicial inquiry led by a retired High Court judge into the stampede incident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The stampede resulted in the tragic death of 121 people.

Visit to Hathras

Chief Minister Adityanath visited Hathras to meet the injured and the families of the deceased. He went to Hathras District Hospital to check on the injured and instructed doctors to provide proper treatment. He also visited the stampede site to gather details about the incident.

Immediate Actions

An FIR has been registered against Devprakash Madhukar and other unidentified organizers of the Satsang program held in Sikandara Rao, Hathras. The Chief Minister dispatched a team of three ministers, the Chief Secretary, and the DGP to Hathras for immediate action. Additional DG Agra and Divisional Commissioner Aligarh have been appointed to investigate and submit a report within 24 hours.

Financial Assistance

The Chief Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. Eyewitnesses and a woman constable narrated the incident to the Chief Minister, describing how people fell on each other during the stampede, with many women becoming victims.
