Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Orders Relief Work Amid Heavy Rains in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 27: Due to heavy rains in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to conduct relief work promptly. He instructed them to visit affected areas, ensure proper relief work, and provide necessary assistance to the affected people.
Gorakhpur experienced heavy rain on Thursday morning, causing trouble for schoolchildren and farmers. The continuous rain has damaged paddy crops, leading to significant losses for farmers.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for very heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Earlier, on September 24, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary requested urgent relief for farmers in the Braj region due to crop losses from excessive rains. He urged the Chief Minister to conduct a priority survey in the affected villages.
Reports indicate that farmers in Moradabad have also struggled with crop damage caused by heavy rain and strong winds. About 60 percent of sugarcane and 70 percent of paddy crops have been affected, with fields waterlogged and strong winds causing widespread damage.
