In Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, two people have been arrested for the murder of Rohit Pandey, who was attacked and killed in front of the Bansdih Kotwali gate. The arrests came after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s stern rebuke, leading to further actions including the demolition of illegal properties linked to the suspects.

The police arrested two suspects, Ankit Yadav and Omprakash Yadav, each with a bounty of Rs 25,000. The main suspect, Rohit Yadav, and his associate, Shekhar Yadav, surrendered in court. The district administration demolished the houses of the main suspect and his associates, as parts of their houses were built on PWD land. Two constables were suspended for allegedly having connections with the accused.

Rohit Pandey was attacked by a gang of youths during a fight for supremacy, leading to his death. The police named six individuals in the case and filed an FIR against several unknown persons. Locals protested outside the SP office demanding arrests. During a review meeting, MLA Ketki Singh informed CM Yogi about the incident, prompting the CM to order strict action.

Police announced a Rs 25,000 reward for each named suspect. During a raid, police arrested Ankit Yadav and Omprakash Yadav. Rohit Yadav and Shekhar Yadav surrendered in court. Officials continue to search for the remaining suspects, Jawahar Gond and Dharmendra Yadav.

The administration demolished the houses of Rohit Yadav and his associates. SDM Bansdih stated that parts of their houses were built on PWD land. Bansdih CO Prabhat Kumar mentioned that four teams were formed to arrest the suspects, with two already apprehended. The house of Rohit Yadav was found to be illegally constructed and was demolished. Two constables, Aslam and Dheeraj Maurya, were suspended for their connections with the accused. An inquiry has been ordered to identify negligent officers, and action will be taken under the Gangster Act and NSA.
